Retreat Center Guidelines

The following list of 'rules' is to set standards and expectations upfront with the purpose of making the retreat more fruitful for the retreatant.  These exist out of love for God and our neighbor.
 

• All retreats are intended to be completely silent. Unless defined by the Retreat Master per his retreat plan, from the moment you enter the retreat and until completion. Silence allows for a more fruitful experience for you and other retreat attendees; therefore, we ask that you observe this rule to the best of your ability.  Conversation will be permitted during the first and last meal of the retreat.

• Dress: To dress becomingly for God and neighbor, and in keeping with the reverence due to the Blessed Sacrament please follow these guidelines.  Modesty is to be observed at all times and in all forms.  Our center provides opportunities to traverse the landscape using it to support your times of prayer, so you can dress according to the situation though basic norms of modesty still must be observed.

• Men: Slacks, dress shoes, collared button up shirt, sport/suit coat required in the Chapel
• Women: Dress/skirts that fall below the knee while sitting, blouses that cover the neckline and arms to the elbow, and head covering while in the Chapel.

• Connectivity: No electronics are allowed, i.e. no computers, phones, tablets, pages, etc that connect you to the outside world.  If you have a potential emergency situation that you may need contacted about, your family/friends can contact the retreat center directly and we will interrupt you accordingly so you can address the issue.
