Why are Name is Edelweiss

Edelweiss flowers are beautifully innocent white flowers that grow on the side of the mountain usually found in the Alps.
 


Just like these innocent beautiful flowers, alone on the side of a mountain, little children are also innocent beautiful flowers that need nurtured and cared for.  When Sr. O'Bryan started Edelweiss she saw the struggles children were being exposed to inside their families and stepped in to help them.  Like the purity and innocence of these flowers, we strive to maintain that purity within the family through the only way, a relationship with God.
